This month’s newsletter includes updates on:
- Pre-season Friendlies
- Club Memberships and Match Fees
- Matchball Sponsorship
- Rubislaw Equipment
Both the 1st XI and 2nd XI will start their 2012 Grades campaigns on Saturday 28th April. With the uncertainty caused by the unavailability of Duthie Park this summer the fixture list has yet to be finalised but we hope to be able to confirm our early season games very soon.
In the meantime we have been able to finalise arrangements for our pre-season friendlies. Here’s the schedule:
- Saturday 14th April at Banchory
- Sunday 15th April at Dunecht
- Saturday 21st April at Perth Doo’cot
It’s been great to see so many new faces at indoor nets and this series of games should give everyone a chance to get some competitive cricket before the start of the season proper (weather permitting of course!).
Many of you will have now registered with the teamer.net website. If you still need to do this please make sure you do as we will be using this site to manage availability and team selection this season. If you have any problems or questions about how this works then please drop our webmaster an email and he’ll be happy to help.
As the pre-season games approach we’re asking all players to note any dates when they will be unavailable for any reason. This will help the captains pick teams as early as possible. Here’s how you do it:
- Login to teamer.net
- Click on “Your Availability”
- Click on the unavailable date(s); you can give a reason if you like
- That’s it, your done
Please update any unavailable dates, for the season if you can, as soon as possible. This will help us to plan for any weekends where it looks like we might be short.
Club Membership and Match Fees
The various fees were set at last year’s AGM as follows:
- Full Membership – £60
- Under-25 Membership – £45
- Match Fees (1st and 2nd XI) – £4
We would like to encourage as many players as possible to pay for their subscription and match fees either up-front or by Standing Order. This will allow us to cover the costs of replacement equipment (see below) as well as reducing the amount of cash which needs to be dealt with on a Saturday.
You can setup a Standing Order of £10 a month, or transfer a lump sum at the start of the season to cover subs and match fees. The bank details are as follows:
- Branch: Nationwide, 250 Union Street, Aberdeen
- Sort Code: 07-00-55
- Account Number: 7347426
A notional account will be setup for anyone paying in this way and any overpayments can be claimed back at the end of the season Please ensure that you include your name as a reference on any transfer or Standing Orders.
If you want to pay your subs. by posting a cheque please print off the return slip and include this with your payment.
Matchball sponsorship is always vital to the financial health of the club and this is particularly true after the equipment losses we suffered in last year’s fire. Companies and individuals can support us by sponsoring any match at £25 per game. All matchball sponsors will be mentioned on the website fixture lists and match reports, with banner advertising if this can be supplied.
Please make every effort to approach anyone who you feel is in a position to support us and return any sponsorship monies with your membership and fees payment.
Many of you will know that we lost a considerable amount of equipment in a fire in April last year. Since then the Committee has been exploring a number of possible funding options to fund replacements. We have recently submitted applications to both the Cricket Scotland Development Trust and The Lord’s Taverners.
We’ll keep you updated with progress on these bids as get it. In the meantime the Committee have agreed to release some of our own funds to purchase two mats for the concrete practice strips at Rubislaw. These should be installed prior to the start of outdoor nets at the beginning of April.
