Heavy rain eventually proved too much for FPs and Bon Accord as the latest Groupfixture was abandoned due to rain.  Bon Accord had just seized the initiative when the heavens opened,

with FPs 29 for 3 in pursuit of 180. Before rain arrived, Martin Worsley and Harry Mapplebeck both took 3 wickets for FPs while Starling made a half century for Bon Accord. With bowlers Anand and Hameed missing, FPs made 3 changes with Waldron in 2nds, Nattrass, Thomson and Mapplebeck stepping in as FPs lined up Morrison, Keith, Swiergon, Hegde, Davey, High, Nattrass, Mapplebeck, Thomson, Knudson and Worsley. FPs lost the toss and Bon Accord chose to bat.

Worsley’s opening spell was somewhat erratic but did remove 3 danger men in Awan (18), Ahmed (6) and Mirza (12).  Awan was plumb LBW, Ahmed miscued to High at point and Mirza was caught by Nattrass. The catch by Nattrass was exceptional, running from mid off, 20 yards to mid on and dive to claim a steepling chance. Mapplebeck was bowling with good pace at the other end and Win had to retire hurt when hit a nasty blow which necessitated a hospital visit.

Starling was batting carefully and upped his scoring with 19 off one Hegde over while Knudson bowled Gopinathan for 1 and Morrison easily caught Sood at the wicket.  Starling passed 50 before Thomson bowled him off his pads for an excellent 59. Win returned with his hand not broken and ran well in pushing the score along.  He did manage to run out Ahmed for 8 and Mapplebeck bowled Hussain for a duck, before Win chipped to Hegde to fall for 24.

Rain came and an early tea was taken before Ahmed was bowled by Mapplebeck for 2 as Bon Accord were dismissed for 170.  Final bowling figures were Mapplebeck 10-1-38-3, Worsley 6-0-29-3, Knudson 10-1-32-2, Thomson 10-3-24-1, Hegde 4-0-33-0 and High 4-0-11-0.

More rain delayed the reply, but when the players did get out there, Keith miscued a cut to Awan at point who took a good catch.  Keith gone for a duck. Mirza had a 2nd victim when Swiergon (4) was bowled playing back when on reflection he should have been forward. Morrison and Hegde repaired some of the damage, but having been dropped twice, Hegde edged to the keeper to fall for 4 and FPs slid to 29 for 3.  Davey faced 2 balls before the rain again forced the players off, Morrison not out on 14.

The rain continued to fall and soon after both captains agreed to call it off.  Next for FPs is a very tough home game against Ellon at Rubislaw.
