About the Club
One of the original sports sections within the Aberdeen Grammar FP Club, Grammar Cricket has been at the heart of North-East Scotland cricket for over 80 years.
Our Story
From 1942 to Today
The Cricket Section is one of the original sports sections within the FP Club and currently has three senior Saturday teams and an emerging junior section. The 1st XI plays in Grade 1 — having been champions in 2021 and 2017, the first title in 75 years.
The 2021 season was truly remarkable: Grammar secured a historic Grade 1 & Aberdeenshire Cup double. In 2019 the 2nd XI won the Bon Accord Cup, while the club has also lifted the Small Clubs Cup in 2016.
In 2023, Grammar merged with Abergreen — breathing new life into the club and helping it thrive once again. Today the 2nd XI compete in Grade 2 and the 3rd XI in Grade 3, with a T20 midweek side rounding out the offering.
Our Home
Rubislaw, Harlaw Road
We play home matches at Rubislaw on Harlaw Road, on an artificial pitch the cricket section financed themselves. Net practices run every Tuesday & Thursday evening from April to August. Beyond cricket, members enjoy social events including quiz nights, cheese & wine evenings, golf outings, and the annual dinner.
