Alex Keith was the unlikely bowling hero with 2 for 14 to go with his 25 with the bat as FPs recorded an improbable 38 run win against Portcullis to close out the 2023 season. With a bowling attack of Prash, Swiergon, Morrison, D’Costa and Keith, 160 seemed unlikely to be enough but 4 wickets from D’Costa and 2 each for Prash and Swiergon helped FPs to victory.
Earlier on Morrison made an all boundaries 28, and he and Keith put on 61 for the 1st wicket on the last game at Duthie Park on an interesting surface. Prash then made 22 not out at 11 to boost the score. FPs handed a debut to Davy Brown who made a 3 ball duck and promptly re-retired and Davie Mitchell returned after 20 years out to make a 1st baller but at least field brilliantly. Rob Swiergon made a rapid 46 to go with his wickets
The game was played in a great spirit with a fairly jovial approach as the curtain fell on the 2023 season.
